Manhole
Precast manholes allow for servicing and maintenance of sewer systems and wastewater management systems.
Precast manholes allow for servicing and maintenance of sewer systems and wastewater management systems. Manholes manufactured by M-1 Tanks are wetcast in a controlled environment, this method keeps the concrete watertight which provides a superior product.
Boot Option:
M-1 Tanks uses Press-seal Direct Drives to ensure water tightness between the pipe and the concrete. The Direct Drives are torqued to exact foot pounds and will have a clamp attached for tightening around the pipe.
Rubber 48” gaskets are used in the joints between the concrete sections.
Note: Manholes may be purchased without the Press-seal Direct Drives, however it is commonly seen that simply grouting around the pipe may cause leakage.
Invert Option:
Inverts are used when the flow needs to be directed from the inlets to the outlets. A halfpipe shape is formed between the inlets and the outlets creating a channel. The slope is kept consistent with a 1.2” drop across the manhole, however this can be adjusted based on request or construction design. These inverts are often used in sanitary sewer systems, or occasionally storm drain systems. Inverts are hand-formed to achieve a smooth finish.
Cast Iron:
M-1 Tanks offers a cast-iron frame and cover. Standard height is 4”, 6” may be ordered on request. Standard options available for writing on the casting include “Sanitary Sewer”, “Storm Drain”, and “Water”. Other options are available upon request.
